The Journey to Self-Sufficiency

BeyondHome offers a holistic and modern approach to helping families through our self-sufficiency program. We combine training, education, professional counseling, life skills, mental health and community to help families achieve their goals and graduate to self-sufficiency.

1. IDENTIFY THE NEED

Our BeyondHome team interviews parents and single mothers to assess their immediate needs, goals, and motivation for success.

2. PROVIDE IMMEDIATE NEEDS

Families accepted into the Self-Sufficiency Program are placed in a safe environment with stable housing within the BeyondHome community. Families receive the necessary items to satisfy their immediate needs, including housing, food, diapers, and furniture from donations.

3. ASSIGN CASE MANAGEMENT

Families are assigned a Case Manager who helps identify their strengths and needs. With frequent meetings and personalized care, the Case Manager creates individualized case plans.

4. GO DEEPER

Individual case plans may include any of the following options or more based on the resident, scholar, or family specific needs. Professional counseling, life and/or parent coaching, career counseling, financial literacy, WWAC, and group night classes. Youth programming is also provided to take a second-gen approach to breaking the cycle of poverty with focuses on mental health and education for children.

5. ABOVE AND BEYOND

Families benefit from BeyondHome’s community garden, Christmas adoption, school supplies, and other community events. They also have access to emergency assistance when needed.

6. GRADUATE TO
SELF-SUFFICIENCY!

After all the hard work and sacrifice residents and scholars move out of the BeyondHome program to self-sufficiency. This means they have obtained a livable wage career/job, are financially stable and healthy, and many even purchase their own homes.
